Good point. Just recently I stumbled across this level of setting for this parameter. I still can't say how much it does or doesn't interfear with the ECU's ability to detect legitamate misfires...

I can't say either... but I've gone for this setting since I discovered the std EDM 2004 STi (Ecu AH992-5513) was set at 10.
This shouldn't be a stupid value then...

well I set my value to 10 and flashed it. im running a jun flywheel and I got the misfire codes again. this is on the a4sge01c(2002 wrx) ecu. im going to increase the number by 1 until it either stops coming back or til I reach a rediculouse threshhold value at which point ill just give up on changing it :P ill post up if I find a magic value that actually works.

I know you know this, but a properly designed lightweight flywheel shouldn't cause false misfire CELs. That's just my opinion of course.

well its more on the weight of the flywheel. the jun weighs like 11-12lbs and I believe the lowest u can go without tossing a cel is like 13lbs. but man is the rev speed great with the jun. only reason im actually worried about this cel is because im going to have to carb my swap soon to make it ca smog legal and a cel is no good. worst come to worst ill swap in a stocker for testing.
