Using ECU Edit & Importing Hex/Bin Files

Postby Scott.T » Sat Sep 16, 2006 1:04 am

Hi,

I have an MY99/00 Impreza and am aware that this ECU is not yet supported for EcuFlash.

However I would like to have a play with the EcuFlash software and have a nose around some base maps for the MY01 onwards Impreza.

Where can I get my hands on a selection of base maps ?
When I have them how do I import them into EcuEdit ?

I have found a couple of Rom images, but when I try to import them it seems to be asking me lots of question about vehicle type and base address's etc..etc...which I don't know the answers to.

Any help appreciated.....

You need to create an XML definition(s) for the rom(s) you want to view. Search on here for "XMLWRITE". XMLWRITE is a utility written by xswrex that will auto generate the rom XML definition of your choice for ECUEDIT, ECUFLASH and ENGINUITY. The XML definition file holds all the base address information that you refer to above. Start here.
I think the latest version of XMLWRITE is v7

All sorted now, started using 'Enginuity' which ios great at decoding the maps.
