If the value works on a particular ECU, the max value 255, will read 159.375 Considering on my car the load is well over 260, this probably won't work well..

I'd hazard a guess that maximum also correlates to the maximum MAF reading before its clipped also..

In other words, its good for low boost applications back in the day when these algorithms were designed..

Its good to correlate low load data, especially if the calculated load value is not accurate due to closed loop fueling..

Makes me wonder why they didn't use two bytes for responses instead of one (obviously speed of logging may have been a concern, or even the overhead of using two bytes to represent data may not have been possible if the available ram was limited..)

MalibuJack, there is normally two byte requests one for high byte and one for low byte.. it will become very obvious once I reverse engineer the evo8 ROM

Thats what I would think too.. It would seem logical that the high byte and low byte would be adjacent codes or some logical way to group them. Time will tell there's enough people working on the roms that its only a matter of time this info will get documented.

Definitely curious to what you guys come up with.

I can't imagine that not being the case since it is a 16bit processer right?

Assuming it is a 2 byte value, I would expect the byte that we are using to rollover, but this is not the case...

something else is going on.

According to Evo4Mad there are 10 different possible initializations.. Its entirely possible that there is a seperate mode that has 2 byte responses that either he's not talking about, or is currently unknown.

I am in the process of aquiring a MUT-III tool which should allow me to get quite a bit more useful information. Its entirely possible there is a MUT-II and MUT-III mode...

Evo4Mad...

Any chance on a release with innovative LC-1 support? Maybe you could put up a repository where people could download any of the versions...including the "in progress" builds so we could get you feedback quicker/during dev.

I really like that idea! You did say that adding the LC1 support would only take you ten minutes to code in.

I'm Sympathetic to Mad4Evo's plight..

Keeping a current build available online is alot more work than you guys realize.. I generate a new build for my software every few hours and couldn't imagine packaging it every day and publishing a snapshot..

Give him a little bit of a break, not that you guys are giving him a hard time, but I'm sure he'll be getting something out.

I realize how much work it is to get this stuff together only in free time. It'll come soon enough.
