Kia ECU datalogging issues

Postby VisionPromos » Thu May 03, 2012 3:48 pm

Hey guys,

I'm fairly uneducated when it comes to the ins and outs of tuning ECUs, but I have some experience using programs like HPTuners in the past, and that is what my question is about.

I am trying to data-log my new 2012 Kia Soul to figure out why they get 1-2MPG LESS when cruising between 55 MPH and 65 MPH than they do when going above or below that range. I figure if I can come up with some data then maybe my contacts at KMA can help create a fix that can be installed at the dealers.

I plugged in my HPTuners today and couldn't get any sort of data from the ECU, HPT says the Kia ECU is likely an unsupported BUS type.

Here are my questions...
1) Does anyone have any programs that will allow me to monitor basic PIDs and data-log them on this car?
2) Does anyone know the BUS type of the 2012 Kia ECU?

Thanks for any help.
