OpenPort 1.3 not working

I bought EvoScan and tactrix openport 1.3 cable from the same site. I have eclipse gst with 1996 ecu.
I could get EvoScan to log with one desk pc which had Vista on it. Even though it disconnected after every 10 seconds.
Problem is that i have had no luck with three different laptops with different XP's (sp2 and sp3).
One laptop, eeepc 900 is taken apart so it can be integrated into center console.
What is the damn thing with it? I have searched for hours on the net and nothing similar exists. Ive tried also all other software like MItsuLogger and ScanTech and those wont work also.
Evoscan page suggests that there might be some issue with timer handling at HAL level...
Any thoughts?
