How do I read my current IAM?

Hi all... Just got my OpenPort 1.2 a couple of days ago!

First question then... How do I actually read my IAM? Do I need to find the address in RAM for my ECU version, or is it labelled as something else in ECUexplorer?

MY ECU is a UK 01 WRX [AF530-7554]...

Many thanks,
James

From ecuExplorer click on 'User-Defined Data Items. You will see a list of 'Advance Multipliers'. Active all except the ones at addressed FF****. Then from the 'Real-time view' click to see all these new data items and see which one is between 1 and 16. Hopefully you should have only one, if not post back here with their values and it should be easy for the rest of us to spot.

Well, I tried this on the way home tonight... Hmmm... All but two of the IAM addresses are way off / invalid values...

But...

0x020124 is stuck at 16
0x020168 is stuck at 8

So, I dunno.... Perhaps I should reset the ECU, and see what these two addresses do??? What was the seed value after reset?

As you say could either. I suspect it's the first one (my address is at 0x020120). If you reset it will either set back to 8 or 10 as the initial value (mine is 10 for a Euro MY03 WRX). If you drive slightly on increasing boost for around 3 or 4 seconds you'll see the value increase quickly if all is well. Mine goes to 16 within one light boost drive say in second or third gear.
Hope this helps.

Jimbo, 0x020124 will most probably be the address for IAM. I have the AF531-7555 ecu which (was) the latest bugeye (02) WRX ecu used in Europe.

Yup, 0x020124 is defo the IAM address for the UK 01 WRX [AF530-7554]...

Reset the ECU and drove home... This address started at 8, and then quite quickly stepped to 12 and then 16.

When I plot a graph of IAM and knock correction, the envelope of the knock correction quite obviously steps up with each step in IAM.
