evoscan speed, not updating regularly

i have used both mitsulogger and evoscan. In mitsuloger the speed was only incrementing in 2km/hr steps. in evoscan it increments in 5-7km/hr steps.
i have had a look at the xml files to make sure that both are reading the same MUT request and calculating properly.
any ideas. BTW its a JDM EVO8 MR
