Am I missing something?

I can't find it either, and I'm itching to give it a go

I've resolved: I move the "logdefs.xml" file into the same directory as ecuEdit and now is all ok :D

Umm, what's up with the "Trial Version/Shareware" deal?

I imagine it means he intends to charge for it at some point...

I don't have a problem with that. Ecuedit is, IMHO, far superior to Ecuflash and Enginuity. I use ecuedit exclusively for all my tuning. The 3D graphs are awesome, especially now that they can be swiveled 360 degrees continously, and with the transparency, etc.

I suggest you ditch the installer, though. It is SO much easier to just unzip and be done.

I have a quesstion related to the operation of the new logger. My engine load parameter is not working on my 02 wrx no matter what address I pick. With EcuExplorer engine load was 0219BD. When I pick that on Ecuedit the parameter just changes between 2,4,6 randomly. Also will the logger support an 06 USDM STI? I assume that it will since there I can load a ROM image and everything looks normal on the maps.

Buy ecuEdit SSMLogger Edition - $50

Buy ecuEdit ECUEditor Edition - $70

Buy ecuEdit FULL Edition - $120

Kinda steep considering it's not complete and doesn't 100% work, don't you think so?

I just love how people work on Open software and then the greed sets in once a lot of people start using it.

Listen, I don't have a problem paying for some software, but you better make sure it has all the possible XML files already in it and that it doesn't have any mistakes that might screw up an ECU. Do that and I think people will pay for it, including me. I'm not going to pay for something that I still have to do a lot of manual work to put in support for every ROM I edit.

Also, what features will each of these versions have?

I'm don't sell ECU XML descriptions, I'm only sell ECUEditor with built-in description editor, graphics support and more. If you worry about mistakes in XML files use EcuTek software with EcuTek support.

You already know about all ecuEdit features
Then you buy SSMLogger license all Logger functionality work without any delays, but ECU editor functions would be with delays. With ECUEditor license would be vice versa. Full version work without any delays at all.

Well, I just got Streettuner for $200 and I use Enginuity to edit the tables I can't with Streettuner. Enginuity's current definition file is complete and accurate with support for over 80 revisions. So, for $200 I have realtime tuning, logging with wideband support, logging with live tracing/cursor and supplement the editing with Enginuity.
