Simply the best WB Sensor/Data Acquisitioning

Postby C6ect.ect » Mon Nov 13, 2006 5:48 am

I need a WB but I don't want to pay for extra stuff I don't need (EGT, psi sensor)

What would be the best settup which includes WB O2 sensor and unit that runs and reads the sensor with USB output plugged into my EvoScan?

Thats it - WB AFR reading supported by evoscan

Thanks

I think Evoscan supports the Innovate LC-1 , and their serial connector. You'd still need a USB->RS232 adapter.

Pardon my ignorance on this but are you saying that all I need for WB reading on my EvoScan is:

1) $12 Serial Program Cable (#3746)
2) $199 £ Cable (LC-1 #3769)
3) $10 USB - RS232 cable adaptor[/list]

So I just provide a 12VDC input and ground to the Lambda cable which in turn provides the digital communication between Bosch sensor and Evoscan PC?

So approximately $250 plus shipping and a little wire maintenance and I have A:F logging?

Also, would the Evo VIII rear O2 sensor bung accomidate the Bosch sensor threads and location requirement?

Thanks

I just looked at the LC-1 user manual at http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/supp ... df#page=11 and it indicates the serial program cable is included with the LC-1, so you might not need to order it separately. Confirm with Innovate before ordering.

Assuming the serial program cable is part of the LC-1 package, your total cost would be $199 plus shipping plus the cost of a USB->RS232 converter.

The Bosch sensor will fit in your rear O2 sensor's bung and that'd be a fine place to install it if you have no cats upstream between it and the engine.

BTW, this link contains a list of the wideband A/F meters supported by Evoscan - http://www.limitless.co.nz/evoscan/.

I have the LC-1 and it does come with the serial cable.

Also, if your laptop / PC has a serial port then you don't need the serial / usb converter cable either.

if you look around on nasioc/clubwrx, you usually can find a deal.

i picked up an lm-1 for 200 shipped. he said it was used, but it is perfectly mint(plastic baggies, twist ties etc.) very happy

I visited the innovate support section and printed the 22 page LC-1 Owners manual. Has everything I need to hook the unit up for my purpose - temp install WB for datalogging. Just hook the sensor and driver up for diagnostic troubleshooting or report of current tune
