BarryC, your layout is pretty AND functional.

I might have a red warninig "light" next to the knock counter, so you can see at an eye if there is excessive knock (like >5 or something).

So beaaaaautiful :-)

BarryC.

Very nice looking layout. Once Evo4Mad adds the ability to stop and pause the log file we'll be all set!

This is what I'm working on ...

Image

It is mainly for "wow," but it is functional as well ... just not as functional as some of the others.

Admittedly, I haven't actually used these gauges since my cable hasn't come in yet. I'll post the XML after I've got them all up and working. I'm being tricky on some of the gauges and stacking scales in order to get the functionality and look that I want. I just hope it works when I plug it in ...

The current measurements include:

Speed
Engine Speed
Wideband AFR
Coolant Temp
TPS %
100% TPS Indicator
Boost (will scale for JDM MAP)
Knock Sum
Knock Indicator

I plan on adding AFR indicators and trying to find a better place for the knock display ... I'm out of room on the factory dash ...

If you guys like this and have some ideas for other vital info that might need to be displayed, let me know. I'm new to tuning and thought these values were a good start.

EDIT: I just added the AFR indicators and a speed warning.

The AFR indicators have replaced the non-functional ACD indicators and are set to ...

LEAN - 12.0-16.0
STOICH - 10.0 - 12.0
RICH - 8.0 - 10.0

The speed warning is set at 100 mph and is located at the bottom of the speedometer. If you see this light up yellow, you better hope that nothing lights up blue behind you.

Here is another ... this one should actually work though =) (Again, i haven't tried it ... my cable should be here in a few days and I can tweak if needed)

The light is set up for an 8k RPM signal and the lights are incremented at 1k. The center lights and "SHIFT" are set at 7500. You should just have to send the Engine Speed signal to the hidden pointer object.

Download the file here (You might need to "Save as ...")

I downloaded the Barry C layout.. When I add it to my layouts in evoscan, it comes up with an exception box? I hit continue and it shows a 4" x 2" white box? I exited and restared it and still doesnt work.. Is there something im forgetting?

Might be cool if you could even have it beep or something when reaching the shift point.

All great stuff :D

I just got v0.99 and it has a function to ALARM when certain parameters are met.

So one way to implement this, in theory, would be to set an alarm to go off when RPM > 7500 or similar, and have it beep or something. So while it would trigger independently of the gauges, the effect is the same.

Haven't tried this myself, but it should work in theory!

That's how I would add an audible indicator to a shift light as well.

Set the input to "default" in the creation wizard, then you just right-click and assign the value before creating the widget (placing it on the desktop).
