Problem reading from 05 USDM STI

Postby timv » Sat Jul 29, 2006 6:24 pm

Hi All,

I've tried unsuccessfully to dump the ROM from my 05 USDM STI. Can someone give me some help? Here are the details:

Car: 05 USDM WRX STI
EcuFlash: 1.28.716
Cable: OpenPort 1.2
WindowsXP: Com4 <-- OpenPort

Here is the log generated as I tried to read the ROM:

<<At this point an error message pops up and says to look at the logs>>

I noticed the FTDXX.DLL error so I copied that file to EcuFlash directory and tried again... here's the log:

[00:36:38.621] Version 1.28.716

<<Again, got error message saying check log>>

I've tried using the EcuExplorer program and it logs/works just fine -- also reports that the ECU has serial of AJ930-8791.

I've did a search on people having trouble reading and seems that it may be a timing issue on my part (hitting OK and Turning to ON) but I have my doubts as it seems to be communicating (ie.. Challenge/Response).

I've tried several times but got the same message each time. I'll try it again and see how it goes..

Has anyone else had this sort of problem?

Thanks for your help!

Did you plug in the green connectors under the dash?

That was it! Thanks.. I should have followed the dialog box, but I must have mis-read that the green connector is for WRX (not Sti). Anyway, I was able to read the ROM out of the ecu. Thanks a bunch! :)
