hi cobby i finally got my 2005 wrx reading and connect to the ecu
but when i read out of the ecu
inside the rom i can't see anything
it just told me " the current map description is invalid or incomplete. please edit the map description to fix the problem and the map will be viewable again"
so did anyone know how to edit the rom files
or is there something i did wrong??

thanks everyone :D

There is no XML file for it. You can use XMLwrite to create one or do it by hand.

XML files tell the software where to find the maps inside the ROM.

Look for XMLwrite on this forum. It will create the XML file for your ECU.

regarding 05 lgt, tried xmlwrite, didn't output anything for A2WC500N.xml (4=ecuflash), tried using the A2WC500N.xml included with ecuflash, display shows nothing other than two disabled timing tables. Tried advanced user mode, nada. clicking timing table shows window with error saying map description invalid. So basically out of the box, ecuflash cannot display/edit/whatever roms from 05 lgt or 05 sti (tested both) unless there's something I missed. Not connected to car... simply opening roms that work in enginuity and ecuedit... I'm testing all the applications right now looking for one that can modify DTCs.
