Ecuflash can't read my ECU. please help!

Postby Achaman » Fri Jan 21, 2011 5:55 pm

Hi, this is my first post, and my name is Javier. My car is a euro 05 WRX sw,. I'm trying to read the ecu but no way!
my green test connectors are plugged and the flash block jumpered.

LearningView works and the log is too big to put it on here but reads the model of the car and ecu: ECU supported (ECUID:3D44583005 CALID:A4TE300D DESC:05 EDM Impreza WRX MT/AT)

RomRaider works too and the test connectors is on but the read memory is off. I shut down RomRaider and LearningView when I'm going to use Ecuflash.

I'm using a bfm interface and fist I´ve been using ecuflash version 1.41 but it didn't work: "interface close"
finally I´ve installed ecuflash version 1.28 and it works until the process fail.
The log is the following:

[00:00:46.234] Version 1.28.716
[00:00:46.250] 8 memory models read.
[00:00:46.984] 71 ROM metadata models read.
[00:00:46.984] checksum module "subarudbw" loaded.
[00:00:47.000] flashing tool "wrx02" loaded.
[00:00:47.000] flashing tool "wrx04" loaded.
[00:00:47.000] flashing tool "sti04" loaded.
[00:00:47.000] flashing tool "sti05" loaded.
[00:00:47.000] flashing tool "mitsukernel" loaded.
[00:00:47.000] flashing tool "mitsukernelocp" loaded.
[00:00:47.000] flashing tool "mitsubootloader" loaded.
[00:01:29.984] ssm2_init
[00:01:30.156] ECU ID is 3D 44 58 30 05
[00:01:30.156] ssm2_cmd_0x81

and stop

any ideas?

Not sure what a BFM interface is, but on these cars there is a separate control line required that AFAIK is supported only on OpenPort cables with ECUFlash. If you can borrow an OP cable (any type) you should be able to test the theory. Otherwise, is the car tuned by someone else i.e., locked?
Also, double check that test mode is on (read the Test Mode parameter in ROMRaider, or check that the fans cycle when key is turned on). Sometimes there are 2 sets of green connectors to join up, and this can make it look 'broken'.
