Yeah, im running xp home on a dell mini- the only thing I can think is that Java updated a few days ago- could that be related?- test write works good- kinda afraid to write- just in case something is wrong- I went to try to read a rom on my wife's 05 outback xt and then on my 05 Forester xt in which I successfully read the rom before, but still have the same result- and then I tried to uninstall ecuflash and deleted all the folders and files associated with ecuflash and restarted my system and then redownloaded ecuflash and tried this about 4 times to no avail

So you are able to read rom from vehicle again?

Ecuflash is working correctly?

i had the same issue:

here is what i id.

uninstalled it all
installed dot net 1.1 (found around here somewhere)
reinstalled with the cable NOT plugged in
plugged in cable
installed the drivers for that when prompted

then invoke the software
in the read window, made sure to select the model of the vehicle
the read then becomes clickable

worked like a charm!!

Yeah, it was user error on my part- I should have updated sooner- just got it working again the other day- I didn't figure it out until after I reinstalled xp on my computer- no matter, it was getting slow anyways

So here's how I fixed it

I had the metadata directory set as C:/Program Files/OpenECU/EcuFlash/rommetadata/subaru

instead of C:/Program Files/OpenECU/EcuFlash/rommetadata

Now it works properly- if you have it set to a folder inside of the rommetadata folder it will not show the menu to read a rom with the cable hooked up- as long as it's set to the rommetadata folder- it works perfectly
