locking ecu

can you lock the ecu with open source? if so how? i know cobb can lock maps but i wasn't sure open ecu

You have to write your own OBD2 routine for the authentication. If you change the algorithim then nobody else will be able to get in to insert the flash code and read/write that ECU. This is what I do to stop the factory reflashes.

Please elaborate. I write my own ecu id's so that the ecu isn't locked, but the maps can't be viewed by others.
