Unable to find parent metadata 32BITBASE.....HELP!!!!

Postby MightyE » Tue Jan 27, 2009 6:20 am

I've been unable to open my map/rom image in EcuFlash for the past two days. I need to flash the map with the FFS & LC patch and can't.

[19:27:33.722] Version 1.35.1650
[19:27:33.728] 11 memory models read.
[19:27:33.728] scanning for metadata models in C:/Program Files/OpenECU/EcuFlash/rommetadata/subaru/Impreza STi
[19:27:33.785] 54 ROM metadata models scanned.
[19:27:33.785] checksum module "subarudbw" loaded.
[19:27:33.786] flashing tool "wrx02" loaded.
[19:27:33.786] flashing tool "wrx04" loaded.
[19:27:33.786] flashing tool "sti04" loaded.
[19:27:33.787] flashing tool "sti05" loaded.
[19:27:33.787] flashing tool "mitsukernel" loaded.
[19:27:33.787] flashing tool "mitsukernelocp" loaded.
[19:27:33.787] flashing tool "shbootmode" loaded.
[19:27:40.985] Unable to find parent metadata 32BITBASE
[19:27:41.000] 1048576 byte image read.

i'm guessing that the second to last line is my problem. the question is: How do i fix it?

ecuflash was operating fine on the previous map but i downloaded the newest version & updated everything and now have this problem. i can get it to work properly on both desktop computers but not the laptop (and a 30ft usb extension isn't practical to get from the garage computer to the car). the laptop is running vista vs the two desktop pc's are running xp. i can't blame vista since EcuFlash worked fine prior to the update. :?:  help!!!

any constructive input would be appreciated!

Go to file->options and change the rommetadata directory to:
C:/Program Files/OpenECU/EcuFlash/rommetadata

i can't verify at this moment but i'd wager that the directory is correct. i'll double check tonight when I get home. the rom image opens to a point where i can see a list of the tables on the left but the "description is incomplete" so the table itself only has an error message and nothing can be altered (eg. boost, timing, etc.) the "tinywrex" tables that should be on the top of the list for LC & FFS aren't visible at all (regardless of visible table settings in relation to user level (which is developer))

I verified that the rommetadata directory is/was correct and i'm in the same place with my problem. i've been unable to access any map, stock, xpt, current or otherwise. the patch for FFS & LC is not available to modify. a friend brought his laptop by today. on it, we installed ecuflash & i was able to access ONLY the patch for FFS/LC but that was enough to flash it onto my ecu. the same error message appeared on his (running vista) but, again, we were able to access the patch & flash the ecu. i'm lost....

Um, the directory is not correct dude. All ROMs inherit from the base. You have rommetadata pointing to the ROM defs only which do not contain the base defs. Change it to exactly what I posted before.

ok, you're correct and I was wrong. the rommetadate is c:\.....\rommetadata\subaru\impreza sti
i need to back the directory up a couple of steps & hopefully that'll get it done.
