Flashing over Cobb Tune

Hey guys, my friend picked up a used 05 wrx from a dealership and i have reason to believe it has an accessport map that was not unmarried. Will I be able to reflash over the cobb map successfully if the AP was not unmarried?

If it was married and had no security enabled (unlocked), then reflash straight over.
If it had security enabled as well (i.e., locked) then you have 3 options:
1. Find the original AccessPort and unmarry it
2. Coerce a kind Cobb dealer to unlock it for you (I think this is possible? May require a carton of beer)
3. Use one of the ECU repair services advertised around on this forum to background-reflash the original ROM back in. This is not ideal because it means you have to reflash with ECU out and send it to someone, and there will be a married AccessPort out there somewhere that can't be used on another vehicle.
