Help needed!! What happened to my ECU??

Postby jkopinga » Sun Feb 24, 2008 12:24 am

All,

After flashing my EDM MY06 WRX I turned off the ignition as usual and disconnected the Green connectors. I then turned the ignition ON and tried to start the car. It is cranking but won't start!! I also cannot connect to the ECU by any means. If I connect the Green connectors back again it will not flash the CEL and go into bootmode. What to do?? I'm immobilised!! Please help.

Best Regards,

Jasper.

Hi Jasper, sounds pretty bad. Once the flash is corrupt on these, it's all over, red rover. Needs to be repaired, which requires special hardware etc.

 I really wish Subaru would learn from Mitsubishi in regards to this; it's practically impossible to 'break' an EVO ECU by a bad flash. The bootloader never gets overwritten, so you can always enter boot mode.

I know about this thread and have all the schematics and photos. Problem for me is that the schematics are not that detailed. I was told to modify the tactrix cable. I will have a chat with Colby later. Time difference is a problem for me. He's on -8.00 GMT and I'm on +8.00 GMT. Hmmm......16 Hours..... Any other help is appreciated.

Cheers,

Jasper.
