1.33 crashes when reading ecu

Postby 06rexwagon » Tue Oct 02, 2007 5:26 pm

Anyone successfully read a rom with 1.33? On 2 different 05 STi's and 2 different laptops it crashes and wants to send an error report as soon as I hit read.

Works for me. Looks like the problems people have been having are related to the FTDI drivers.

When installing 1.33 I cancelled at the USB driver part.

Mine failed at reading/writing Ecu from the instance that I hit read or write button.

I am not a computer geek so I don't know what's wrong with it....

Now I can't go back to older version and stucked with my tuning.

Happening here too. I tried first with my buddy's Vista box with a completely fresh install and using the packaged drivers. Then tried on XP laptop with 1.33 and the drivers I had from an old install.

Goto the windows control panel, uninstall all FTDI and tactrix drivers.
Reboot the computer.
Unarchive this attachment to its own folder. Go into the directory and install the drivers with DPinst.exe.

Then reboot again and insert your cable to try again.

A working installation back around 1.29 or 1.30 I believe. Check the timestamp on the files. It has been the only drivers that have worked properly for myself and many other people who have upgraded.

I tried installing 1.28, 1.30 and 1.33 using all different driver combinations, including the ones in this thread. I am running Vista and trying to read my USDM 07 wrx rom.

I'm looking into it - I have removed all the drivers / software on my Vista machine, and I can't get it to reproduce the problem some of you are having with 1.33. Hopefully I can get a repro soon...

I cleaned off an XP machine and it seems to work fine too with 1.33. Hmmm....
