Never said I was flashing. I said I was reading. I tried on an 05 STi, but it acts the same no matter what read protocol I choose.

Could you please tell me how to clean off an XP machine?

I tried to remove USB-Serial Driver in "Add or Remove Programs" but the Window wont let me.

Tried to uninstall the driver in the "Device Manager" when I plug my cable in. But everytime I plug the cable back in, the machine will automaticall install the driver for me.

How can I permanently delete the driver?

Delete the entire folder under program files->openecu. Just get rid of the openecu folder.

For those having problems, please try the following and let me know if it remedies the situation. (This is for x86 32 bit users only)

copy the file

C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\drivers\x86\FTD2XX.dll

to the

C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash

directory, the try re-running EcuFlash. Does this fix your problem?

There is some issue with either the DLL or the driver not being current for the installation, I would guess. I can't repro the problem here. If someone who is having the problem would like to call in at 206.388.2714, I'd be happy to troubleshoot it and figure out the root cause.

I think I have it fixed. I'm just waiting to hear back from some testers... The problem appears to be specific to 1.2 cables (as someone said before). The first 1.2 cable I test wasn't a standard one, so I didn't see any problems. Once I switched to a real 1.2 cable, I was able to reproduce the problem. Look for a release in the next day or so.

UPDATE:
I successfully read and flashed with 1.33.1426. Problem was a loose "green test connector wire".
- KPN

I think I am having a similar issue with EcuFlash. Thus far I have not been able to get it to read from my ECU. I have not tried flashing yet.

I have a 2007 USDM STi, purchased in May 2007.
1st tried using latest version (1.33.1426). Copy of error log attached.
Uninstalled 1.33, downloaded and installed 1.30.1095. Copy of error log attached.

I am using an OpenPort 1.2 cable that I purchased and received from tactrix.com last week (in case that helps to "date" the cable).

Thanks for the help.

The test release that Colby sent to me worked perfectly on an 05 STi yesterday with my old 1.2 cable.
