I have now been able to pull the rom from the ecu . I have modified it and am trying to put it back in , the cable is a 1.3 universal and ecuflash 1.3 when trying to flash I get the message

Flashing tools do not recognize flash method ''

I have the green connectors connected and the white flash block in place , what could be wrong?

There is something wrong with the flash method in the XML for whatever ROM you are using.

What is the CAL ID for your ECU? (something like A2ZS710J) Go to the /ecuflash/rommetadata directory and find the XML file for that ID, open it in notepad, or just post the whole XML file.

Merchgod thanks very much , all of the euro STi roms I down loaded non have a flash method assigned to them , is this normal?
