Is your flash connector (see pic) connected to the flash block?

Oh and when I try to flash using ecuexplorer, it says that it can't read the programming voltage

The flash method should be related to wrx04 (not sti04).

What program did you use to read your ROM from the ECU? Have you actually changed anything in it?

I used ecuflash to pull the rom modified it in enginuity and then tried to flash back using ecuflash .

In ecuexplorer I got the message that it couldn't read the programming voltage and in ecuflash it said that the flashing method was not supported

All MY01 to MY05 EDM STi (2.0 Non-TS AVCS) must use the following tag in ecuflash :

<flashmethod>wrx02</flashmethod>

in hex file change the method to wrxbase.

in program files find the rommetadata,subaru and the A4RN200H. change the flashing method to wrxbase or wrx02base. copy it to the wrx rommerdate files. it will like the below.....

- <rom>
- <romid>
<xmlid>A4RN200H</xmlid>
<internalidaddress>200</internalidaddress>
<internalidstring>A4RN200H</internalidstring>
<caseid>AH992-5513</caseid>
<ecuid />
<make>Subaru</make>
<market>EDM</market>
<model>Impreza</model>
<submodel>WRX STi</submodel>
<transmission>Manual/Auto</transmission>
<year>2003/2004</year>
<flashmethod />
<memmodel>68HC16Y5</memmodel>
</romid>
<include>wrxbase</include>

The main problem I had was I was supplied with the wrong cable . I initially had the 1.3M and after recieving the 1.3U I was able to upload and download to the ecu . Which cable do you have?

for 2005 sti, you have to connect te green test connectors and also the white flashing connector to read and write the map:)

you have to use sti05 flashing method.
