Trouble writing and now reading to ECU

Postby schoellnasty » Tue Jan 17, 2006 8:24 pm

I am using EcuFlash v1.01.72 along with the Openport v1.2 cable. The car is a USDM 2005 WRX, bone stock. Yesterday I was able to perform a dump of my ECU without any trouble. Now today I am trying to flash a modified ROM to it, in order to get rid of the OL/CL delay. After turning the car to 'ON' and hitting OK, EcuFlash displays this:

[0.000] 196608 byte image read.
[8.583] Flashing image to ECU memory...
[0.310] kernel flash disable
[2.313] denso_cmd_0x81
[2.314] validating denso kernel ram area addr: 020000 len: 0008
[2.123] unable to load kernel

I cannot flash my stock image to the ECU and can no longer read from the ECU as well. Anyone experienced this problem before or have any suggestions? I am going to reset the ECU now. Hopefully that cures my problem, but if not I'll need some help.

Thanks,
Adam

The ecu reset did it. Now I'm getting a programming voltage error because I forgot to jumper the white connector. Gonna take care of that tomorrow cause its late.

If something seems uncertain, try the test flash option first before flashing for real...
