Cannot Run ECUFlash 1.3

Postby s2p2 » Mon Mar 19, 2007 6:28 am

Hey guys

I have uninstalled 1.29a, the 2 drivers.
Installed 1.3 but it cannot run.

I am not sure what went wrong. Anyone faced the same issue and resolved it?

Thanks

what problem did you have if you did not uninstall before installing 1.30? nothing has changed about the drivers...

This is the same issue I'm seeing. I am also on Windows 2000 SP4 on my laptop (s2p2 is on Win2k sp4 per another thread). I was fine with everything up to 1.29a, though I lost my copy of it so I can't roll back. I have 1.28 but it crashes seemingly no matter what I do now with a generic application error. It used to work fine.

Ecuflash simply will not start. Hourglass comes up for a split second, that's it. Not to be found running in task manager. No error message.

I've pretty thoroughly uninstalled things, made sure the actual drivers are gone from various locations in the windows install directory as well, rebooted, reinstalled, and soforth. I spent a few hours on it. I wonder if anyone with Win2k has it working.

It runs fine on my desktop and a SFF system I hauled out to my garage to test. Both of those are running XP. I successfully flashed my car with the SFF system. The SFF has never had any Ecuflash version on it so it was a clean 1.30 install. My desktop has had a few versions of Ecuflash. I've never gone through an uninstall process on it. I've also never plugged in the Tactrix cable into the desktop.

I upgraded my laptop to XP and it is now working. I installed XP (upgrade), tried Ecuflash and it crashed with a generic windows application error. Just reran the installer and it started working with no further reboots, uninstalls, etc.

ECUFLASH 1.3 doesnot run on Windows 2000?

Postby evo8 » Fri Apr 13, 2007 7:25 am

version 1.3 seems not to run on Windows 2000 - installation went fine, after starting the program - clock is there for a while and then nothing happens.....

Any ideas ? I cannot reinstall to Win XP due to my company's IT restrictions.

Do your company's IT restrictions apply to a laptop you own?
