Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere, but here's a link to what I've been doing http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php?p=8571#8571

Editted to say : Doh! just spotted a lot more BIN files ealier in this thread.

I have now downloaded these and emailed them home, so will have a look later.

I have an Excel spreadsheet that decodes some of the maps and provides 3D plots. So I will post some examples shortley.
It's the same Excel spreadsheet I used to decode Pre-96 maps, which I have been using to map over 150 cars over the last few years.

So far, everything I have found in the Ae802 ECU uses the same conversion factor to convert from 'Hex' to 'Real' values as the Pre96 ECU maps.

Some of you were talking about the Axis for the Ignition & Fuel Maps. These are RPM and Load based. Load being some sort of MAF caluclation. Normally the load scale runs from about 4 to 45, but thining about this, i f you divide by 10 it could be MAF voltage i.e 4.5V

However, I have only every seen it displayed on graphs around 4 to 45 (different maps have slightly different scales i.e 4 to 43 or 4 to 47). And that includes an HTML output using ECUT*K.

P.S If anyone wants Pre96 BIN or HEX files just shout as I think I have nearly every ECU on disk.

Here's what I've found so far in an Ae802 ROM from a UK/EU MY00 Impreza GT/Turbo

Fueling MAP
0x38F : 0x48E

Main Ignition MAP
Map A
0x31C : 0x41B
Map B
0x61C : 0x71B

Hi Oct Ignition Comp MAP
0x41C : 0x51B

Lo Oct Ignition MAP
0x71C : 0x81B

Lo Oct Ignition Comp MAP
0x51C : 0x61B

Rpm Scale (16x16 Grid)
0x137F : 0x138E

Load Scale (16x16 Grid)
0x136F : 0x137E

Boost Limit
0xC74 : 0xC83

Boost MAP
0x1EC5 : 0x1F04

Solenoid Duty Cycle
0x1F05 : 0x1F44

Rpm Scale (Duty)
0x1DFB : 0x1E02

Rpm Scale (Boost)
0x1DF3 : 0x1DFA

Thottle % Scale (Boost/Duty)
0x1DE2 : 0x1DE9

There's also a couple more maps for Boost Temp Comp and MAF Scaling in the 'Full Dump' listing of the attched html file (in zip file)

Havn't yet found Rev limit, Speed limit or Injector sizes.

Any chance someone can produce an EcuFlash or Enginuity XML fiel from the attached decoded bin file.

SORRY GUY'S

The html file I created in the above zip probably won't work, as it's still linked to the source xls file.

I need to 'publish' it or something in order to make it stand alone.
Will do that later and re-post when done.

Ive got a 2000 model Aus WRX, desperately waiting for support for tuning.....

It seems there are images..... we just need to start decoding and putting together a definition file, that requires someone with the know how......

the first step is done.

ive been researching a hell of a lot but need some starting advice for the <romid> data etc..... that guts of the xml definition file that enginuity uses.

What im really struggling to find is some algorithm that enginuity uses in incorporating the definition file.

I know xml, i have an image file, now i need to know how enginuity uses the definition file to read the image...

Perhaps if I post the above zip file on the enginuity site we can get someone to create an XML from the data I've provided.

Although getting an XML file only gets the Excel spreadsheet info displayed using a different software application. In fact I don't think Enginuity can currently do 3D graphs unless I havn't spotted it yet.

Hi John,

I think the link to EcuEdit is bust at the moment.
Can only download Explorer, Flash and Enginuity.
Can you ping a copy to scott.555@tiscali.co.uk

cheers..

Download is under section 3: http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/uploads/Kn ... _0_72b.zip

Please note that this version of ecuEdit is an old version. This is last release before the license changed. Depending on what epifan thinks I might start mirroring the latest releases again.

Can EcuEit create me an XML file.
If so how, as I can't work out what to do with EcuEdit other then display a colourful hex file.

Exelent work Scott.T!

Do you know if some of the tables uses signed bytes?
The CPU supports signed bytes in the instruction set..

..and still we need a reflash tool. :-/

Any news yet on support for the JECS ECUs ? There's a local performance shop around here just chomping at the bit to have a go at tuning our RSes.

Stuart.

Wow you guys are amazing. I have tons of stuffs to learn, I can only understand like 5% of what you are talking here.

I am new here and running on STi ver6 JDM and hoping to be able to tune this myself like all of you here.

But for the start, I can logging the data to see what's going on???? going through this board a while making me confuse already.

If someone could teach me about it please?? I'm kinda lost now.
what do I need ? cable and software ecuexplore maybe?? and what's next ? any data to load before I can log?
Any help would be appreciated
