"Unknown ROM" - need some help here...

Postby Mudduck » Wed Dec 27, 2006 9:14 pm

Just received my new ROM fron the tuner; trying to write this ROM to my ECU. No problems reading the original OEM ROM, but when I open ECUflash and click on open folder, and select my new ROM, I get an "Unknown ROM" message in a box titled "setup ROM", along with 3 choices of: create from scratch, define, or inherit below; however, when I click on inherit or define, the dropbox remains blank (I have no choices - just a gray drop box) :(
Am I doing something wrong? Yes, my new ROM image is saved using a '.hex'.

Any help here would be much appreciated... Thanks guys... 8)

I forgot to mention that after I close down the "Unknown ROM image" box, there is an underlying error box titled " Command Line Open ROM file" which states that there has been an arror reading this ROM file... :(

What vehicle?
May be, it is not present in a database of the program EcuFlash.

Yes, it is not present in EcuFlash's database. Perhaps your tuner can provide you with an XML file?
