After installing ECUFlash 1.28 fresh on 2 laptops (Alienware Aurora 51m, and HP 6220) and following the instructions to the T, I have come to the conclusion that those around here that are saying that they are able to read the 2007 STi ECU with ECUFlash ARE NOT being very truthful.

You may be able to read the 2007 WRX, but the STi is a no go (LTD. or otherwise).

BTW, cable and software works fine when reading my 2005 Lancer EVO ECU or anything else besides the 2007 STi ECU.

I don't think the 07 STI works (I could be wrong). . ..

Subaru did a major overhaul on STI in 07 AFAIK....

I for a fact know the 07 WRX can be read an flashed. . . I've been tuning mine for moths (ecu image is posted on osecuroms.org and enginuity.org). Enginuity had support for the 07 as well now.

Yes, I would agree 100% that the WRX ECU can be read/flashed using ECUFlash, but the STi cannot.

So what's involved in getting Ecuflash to work on the 07 STi? Is there anything us owners can do to assist in the process?

Not really. When it comes to flashing Colby is the only person who deals with it.

We have two roms now from an 07 sti with Ecuflash (A2UG000J AND A2UJ000J), so it is not impossible. I also know of several people who have flashed their 07 sti with Ecuflash.

Can anyone put us in touch with somebody that has been successful so that we can see how it was done?

Is the new version 1.30 supposed to support the 07s? I tried a Forester FXT 07 today and it didn't work.

Look at that . .. I didn't even know there was a new version .. Does it work with an 07 WRX is a good question too. Anyone?

hey guys, i dont know if you guys have any update on this but, i was able to read from my friend's usdm 07 sti tonight. i used 1.3 cable with ecuflash 1.301095. this is what i did.
1. connect tactrix cable to both car and computer.
2. connect green connectors.
3. click read from ecu in ecuflash and press okay once
4. turn ign on, car goes into test mode(fan cycles, this is different from my02 wrx)
5. press okay again in ecuflash, fans stops, reading begins.
6. 2 mins later, reading completes, it asks for a profile of some sort, since i didnt see 07 sti i pressed cancel, rom deletes itself. DOH!
should i go through the process again and try to save the rom under 06 sti?
now im pretty sure the 07 sti ecu could be read. but how do i go about flashing a stage 2 rom on that car? when i try to flash an 07 sti stg 2 map from here, ecuflash is saying its an unidentifies rom. can i flash it under 06 sti rom definition? any help would be greatly appreciated!
