What car do you have? You could post your rom so I can look at it and compare it to the 2000 fed spec eclipse gt rom i already have and the evo 5 rom that i picked up somewhere. I have someone trying to bring me a gsx to read but i havent seen it yet.

Here's the ROM and Definition file. The ROM is from my ecu and I think you made the def...(I'm kobalt82 on c3g)

Hey Travis, I'll be watching this thread so if you get flash support we can tune your car.

Im curious if anyone knows if there is any new information?

I have a 2000 eclipse gt fed spec, so I could possibly pull off an ecu swap with a flashable late 2001+ h7 ecu. I need to start researching ecu pin outs to make sure.

There are a few pit falls that I know of at this time. The cam position sensor reluctor in the distributor for 2000 and 2001 cars has one sensing blade. The 2002+ distributors have 4 sensing blades. Without fixing the problem cam and crank position sensor codes will be thrown. There is the option of swaping the reluctor, but I'm not 100% sure the signal would not be a degree or two off. However, I have read of one successful swap on a 2000 cali spec. TheFranchise on club3g.com used a 2002 ecu, flashed to delete the immobilizer deleted, and flashed it with a late 2001 rom.

My fed spec car has 2 o2 sensors total, and fuel trims control all 6 cylinders. All flashable eclipse v6 ecus are cali spec emmissions and have 4 o2 sensors with individual fuel trims for each bank of cylinders. This would require me to weld in bungs for 4 new o2 sensors.

I have an E6 RalliArt Sport ECU (RA420996R1.)
Not much point adding to the confusion now.
When Colby sorts out the kernel then I can add this to the other maps.

Nope. Haven't bothered. When Colby sorts out the software then I'll get to it.

I'm in the middle of converting 4wd 1800 GSR into authentic Evo 6 Tommi Makinen Edition...
complete with DIY stitch-welding, FoamSeal urethane, and DIY bodywork & paint job.
Also, upgrade Evo 6 RS2 with ProFlex suspension, wider wheels, EvoGreen turbo etc.
A lot to do meanwhile... :)

srnoth wrote:Hey Folks,

Well it seems that the solution for all EVO5/6 owners is to replace the ECU with one from a new model (7/8 etc).

So I was wondering, would this work for normal lancers as well?

I have a 1998 Lancer (a.k.a. Mirage in the US) with the re-flashing port that the Tactrix cable would hook up to. Would it be possible to replace the current ECU with one from a 2001-2003 lancer with the same engine (4g13)? Could I then reflash the new ECU using OpenECU?

This is exactly what I have been wondering. I have a usdm mirage, and I am looking to tune, but don't want to invest in the cable unless it will hook up with the ecu (connector is there). Has anyone tried a mirage/lancer/colt yet? If so, which motor? I have a 99 with the 4g15
