I was under the impression that prodrive had a special tune on their car, but it seems they just slapped the slightly more powerful JDM maps in there and called it a day.. verrrry interesting.

From admittedly dimming memory, the P1 base map is as per the STi5, but the knock correction and low octane map is different, resulting in the ECU being far more proactive in response to noise from the knock sensor than an STi5 would be in the same circumstances.

copy this into the <config> part in ecuedit.xml

Code: Select all

I created the necessary maps last night and this was the only one that was not coming out.

I notice that maps are reference as pointers and there are not like in the newer models. I am not sure if my statement is completely correct, but it seems so.

Do any one have an update to how the 99/00 reflash is coming along?

Can it be read yet?

Any idea on when some success will be possible?

I may soon loose my MY00 JDM GC 2.0L NA w/ AVCS and I may never get a chance to see what that rom may looks like and even correct the pinging issue from 1500-3000rpm.

That code is slightly over my head. If it could say to you in plain text, send 01 02 03 04 05 to the ECU and expect it to regurgitate the Rom out, then I could do it.

Hello!

Any progress on the JECS ECU's?

Every day I am coming across JECS wrx/sti that need rom support and there is none.

What can we do?

Yes, I agree. We need the JECS asap.

I posted something and now I have a ton of people interested in the reflashing for the GC8's, many people from the Toronto Subaru Club.

They have JDM STi ver5/6 swaps and are in dire need of being able to tune timing for our fuel here. Cobb has left them to die, no jdm tuning from them.

Ecutek, no one has the flash99 software here apparently, either that or they don't want to bother with normally aspirated cars.

not to worry.

it will get done. The right people have the right tools to get the job done. Its just a matter of them finishing up current pressing projects and moving on to help us out.

We understand, but it has been quite a while now especially with new non subaru roms and 2005+ roms popping up :)

Not trying to sounds harash, but just the facts :)

Thanks for the update

I have donated a few GC8 ecu's to Colby.

He should have them by now, unless SkippyMail (Australia Post) stuffed up or something.. Maybe the Kangaroo drowned in the ocean :)

Any updates?

This reminds me of the wrxforum where the guys like myself was beginning for a ap to control our TCU.

Its becoming hopeless now.

I'd also like to know if this is moving along. I bought my Tactrix cable months ago in anticipation of this utility. Let's hope there's some light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm inspecting an european Impreza GT MY99 at the moment. It has Unisia JECS ECU, id 22611-AE780.

What's interesting, it doesn't have the obd2 connector that later imprezas have, but instead there's a "Nissan Consult" -type connector that looks like this:

I have chipped a lot of Nissans, they often have this same connector. I haven't tried yet if it is consult cable works.

Anyway, is it possible to reflash this ecu?

Zuikkis: Are you shure theres no ODBII-connector?
I have a similar connector like that in my car, in addition to the ODBII one..
