Yet another person adding their name to this thread... I eagerly await progress on this ECU. I don't have an EVO6 but I have a base model lancer manufactured in 1998, with both the black OBD plug & the white initialization one described here. Going to order the cable soon.

Might this help with the H8 kernel? It is a freeware debugging tool that lists the H8/500 as an embeded processor using 4 different memory models.

I am now so BEEPING BEEPED OFF with waiting now i feel
like just ordering a CMD flash unit from

http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... safe%3Doff

At least these can flash the EVO 5-6-7-8-9 along with a load
of other cars.
Take it from me you try and do the job on the cheap and you
either end up fuc*ing something up or waiting like c*nts for
months and months for nothing.
I have finished now and feel allot better

FFS!

If I were Colby every time some d**k posted a moaning reply, I'd put the f**king thing to the bottom of the pile.

Please stopped f**king bitching at the poor man for not doing something he is already doing for free. What is wrong with you lot?

Perhaps the man is just very busy. Please stop acting like spoilt children before you f**k it for everybody!

My 2p !!!

I do understand your frustration
An update from Colby would be greatly appreciated, good or bad news,
But we do have to remember that he is doing all this work for nothing in return, 8)

IMO the best way to avoid frustration is to not plan any commercial anything for EVO5/6 until there is something actually working and released for it. My guess is people have been promising EVO5/6 customers support for their vehicles with a schedule that is completely out of their control.
I'd be frustrated too, but if you undo the commercial plans for now you'll be under far less pressure (Colby too)...

why the heck would you guys want to have this as your main tuning tool.. I am planning to use this as a back up and just to play with... no use getting all upset, you will have to deal with bugs and beta anyways... it will be a while before you will have afull working flash tool from one source... unless you are able to code some of the stuff yourself... go get somethign else if you in a rush...

Bump...

Any updates on this? I sent Colby a PM on May 30th and he hasn't read it yet.

My car needs this since the timing control on the e-manage doesn't work on my car.

I have a 2000 Eclipse GT auto. There are a few problems with the auto GTs and the e-manage ignition harness.

I had to remove mine to make my car happy again.

I hope that we get some news about this soon...

Bummer, sorry to hear about the auto issue. My GT 5spd responds well to the ignition adjustments. Unfortunately the dual fuel trim trigger maps are a serious obsticle that can only really be overcome by flashing.

Lets hope for the best, if not, I will just deal with fighting the ecu.
