There are pdf manuals buried in the download section for the operation and programming of the h8 series microprocessers.

Based on what I have read here.. Colby will probably have it done soon.
You could try Dsmlink or buy an evo 8 ecu off of ebay

Personally, I will give Colby a couple more weeks before I start to play with the evo 8 ecu I bought off ebay to replace my h8 ecu with.

Just let me know and I will help.

Unfortunately im pretty sure the original dump requires you to desolder the processor from the ECU board to read it with your programmer making the ECU useless... unless you want to go through the trouble of resoldering it to test it out with the cable. An extra ECU would really be what you need. Will any of your programmers read from the Hitachi H8 chips?

What might be easier is if colby would post a copy of an H8 dump, there is one in the download section for an acura legend but im not sure that is what we need. And for that matter, is the ECUFlash source available for download? Or is there an openport SDK? The download section is huge and i have dl'd the three PDFs on the H8 but havent found any information on how the ECUFlash GUI interfaces with the cable.

I loaded one of the ones posted on here into IDA. You need to load it at offset 0x10000, and then reset vector is the address pointed to from the first four bytes. There were two fuel and timing tables that popped out from searching for the headers like the SH2 Evo 7-9 models - 03 0x then two addresses, then the column length then the map data.

Colby, Is there any chance of a beta version release with the new
H8 Kernal???
It might keep us from chewing at the bit to hard.
It might be an idea to do this but tell people to use it at
there own risk.
If you want to send me a version email
it to email.andy@blueyonder.co.uk :P

You guys ever thought of using tuner pro to view the maps in 3D, it is actually quite nice. I have actually been viewing evo 6-9 fuel and ignition maps in 3D.

the unofficial, third party word is he is almost done with it. I have noticed that he doesnt stay on top of this board probably because he is a busy man. I really do think he should at the very least give us a place we can send donations for all the work he is doing. When he does finish i will be extremely grateful.

Has anyone PM'd or spoken to Colby directly? I noticed that he was on the forums yesterday, but didn't address this thread...
