Have the Openport 2.0, mitsu cable and Ecuflash downloaded. When I retrieve the factory files everything is good but I get a message basically saying it cannot be modified?! Any suggestions or am I dead in the water?

it might be the memory model or the flash method might not be correct for the ecu,

acording to the xml its a SH7052 and using the mitsukernel, could be worth looking in the ecu case to make sure its not a different processor

Thanks Andy! I was wondering if pulling same year ECU off a different Eclipse/Stratus might work so long as its not coded to the other modules on the vehicle.

Got everything going, the battery voltage was actually not where it should have been during the reading/write process. The only obstacle now is the immobilizer and how to delete it. Any clues, anyone?

you should see it in the periphery bits under FAA bit 3 i've attached the above rom with the immob disabled

Hey Andy, I flashed that ROM to the vehicle and it still won't start. I used my scanner and I do get a P1610 immobilizer code, apparently it is still active any other ideas?

Hey Andy thanks for the file but no luck. I finally realized what you were talking about when you said periphery and bit 3. When I open up ECUflash none of my periphery tables are displayed even though I've copied and pasted the periphery stuff from an evo7base20081101.xml to my 96720008.xml. Obviously I am doing something wrong. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Andy I got the periphery data pasted in my 96720008 xml and now its displayed in the hex file. Under periphery 0 (FAA) bit 3 I see the immobilizer enable/disable, I've flashed it just that way with no luck. The immobilizer is still appears to be intervening. I'm confused. :|

many thanks,
Ray

Update, I got everything to work!!! I wiped everything out and re-installed ECUflash on the old laptop and made the necessary pasting. Thanks for all your help Andy.
