Maps on forester has values that is useless

Postby evoixdk » Mon Jan 29, 2007 11:10 am

Hi

I have now read the rom from an european spec. Forester but when I open the rom and read out the values in the maps , the values is
nothing that I can use

If I open the low detonation fuel map A the load says -0,00 all over and the engine speed values are also useless it reads -0 , 16.., 72.. , etc etc

I have read out an EVO IX and every thing works fine on the EVO

What could be wrong

Rom info: Internal ID A2WC401F
Memory Model SH7055
checksum module subarudbw

Thanks

[stock answer below]

EcuFlash is not showing any tables for your ROM because no XML definition files has been made for it yet. XML definition files are collections of information about what tables are in a ROM, where they are located in memory, how the numbers in the ROM scale into human readable units, etc. Making definitions is a time consuming process that must be repeated for each different ROM version. I try to contribute definitions when I can, but ultimately it is up to the members of the OpenECU community to help with this aspect of the project. By submitting your ROM image to

http://forums.openecu.org

and

http://enginuity.org

you should be able to get help from others that share an interest in the same vehicle you have. Please also be sure to send me a copy of your ROM as well for our library and future testing.

You should create a new post in the appropriate forum at http://forums.openecu.org/index.php?c=5 and include the ROM image as an attachment. Then you should register at www.enginuity.org and then create a new post in the forum http://www.enginuity.org/viewforum.php?f=8 and follow the instructions provided by http://www.enginuity.org/viewtopic.php?t=128.

Try changing the file extension. Try .hex, .rom, and .bin.

Hi,

I have tried to rename the file extension in .rom, bin, .hex, and I get the same results with EcuFlash and Enginuity always gives me this error "ECU Definition Not Found"
:(

That was a response to the other guy saying he couldn't post his ROM. It seems some people have issues posting files if the file extension isn't right. I don't know what is allowed or not.

If you can't get definitions, you should try downloading the latest Enguinity and latest Enguinity definitions. It probably has the best coverage.

I have downloaded last week the latest version of enginuity and the latest definitions, but it cannot recognize it.
I can post my rom if the other guy can't post it.

The rom posted above has already been added to the latest Enginuity definitions. They are newer than what is included with the main Enginuity download. Get them here:

I'm not sure what you are saying, but if you have the A2WC401F rom, it will work with the new definitions unless you do not have them installed correctly. Perhaps you have another revision? Post up your rom, it might not be the same as what the other guy that posted (change the file extension to .hex).
