No workie on my 2004 USDM STI, which is DBW, while the WRX is not. I didn't expect it to work...

Neverlies, exactly what model year, market (edm? usdm? jdm?), and model is your car?

I hooked everything up, hit the Read ECU button, turned the key to ON, then clicked OK on the dialog box for ECUflash. I tried about a dozen times.

Here's my flash setup and log files (ecuflash and portmon):

http://freon.shackspace.com/ecu%20and%2 ... /flash.jpg
http://freon.shackspace.com/ecu%20and%2 ... /error.log
http://freon.shackspace.com/ecu%20and%2 ... /flash.log

The portmon log looks ok to me. I just don't think the DBW STI ECU is as close to the cable throttle WRX as you are thinking. But if you have a DBW STI, then nevermind, maybe I'm screwing up.

The DBW ECUs will not work until I add support for them. It's a completely different ECU.

Somebody *please* mail me an ECU!!! I'm willing to buy it if the price is reasonable. This is all that is holding me up from DBW support...

I'm researching. I'll see what I can find. My car whispered to me "flash me, flash me" as I was prodding under the dash, I swear.

Here are the msvc*71.dll files needed to make it work on XP Pro, and I would assume are correct for XP Home as well.

Colby,

I have found here in the Netherlands a DBW ECU from a Sti with auto gearbox.
It's the one with the big SH7055 processor in it. I can lend it from a guy here who import used engine's from Japan.
I can send it to you if you want, let me know.

Yep, my antivirus s/w also detects this:
The Win32/Gael.3666.A was detected in ECUFLASH_SETUPV101.EXE

Hope your system is fine Colby. I'd definitely recommend a through virus check...

My system too. PE_Tenga virus.

Also, the file to be downloaded is only fifty-something kilobytes and
not the original Mega-Byte size.
