Is there a way to load the OpenPort 1.3 using Win 2000ME

Postby C6ect.ect » Sun Jan 21, 2007 6:40 pm

Just bought a laptop and put Win 2000 me on it and now I find that it needs to be 2000 or pref XP.

Keep geeting "DPIN.EXE file is linked to missing export ADVAP132.DLL" when I try to drive the cable

Is there any way around upgrading the me and rigging the thing to drive the OpenPort 1.3 Mits?

Thanks

I am by no means an expert in this software, but if you are getting an install issue and the software says it works with 2k/XP then it probably isnt going to work with me.

BTW, 2000me doesnt exist. 2000 and me are 2 completely different things. If it says me you have windows ME, which is a 9x kernel OS. 2k/XP are NT based kernels. This difference is the cause for many programs not working in one or the other.

I had to install some dlls, but it said which ones they were, think I found them off google. It was a long time ago and I now have a different laptop. You might find details from old posts from searching?

I am also using a windows 2000 laptop, with service pack 4. I have installed EcuFlash before I plugged the cable in, and this installed the lastest drivers for openport cable for me. When I pluddeg the tactrix cable, it asked for drivers, I clicked automatic search for drivers, and it installed the appropriate drivers , then repeated that twice again for other hardware detected with the cable.
The cable works without problems with EcuFlash, EcuExplorer under W2K now. Perhaps using the lastest drivers would work for you. Good luck..
