SSM over K line or not?

Postby fabrik8 » Mon May 30, 2005 7:36 pm

I haven't found a clearcut answer to whether the SSM for 02+ WRXs is done over standard 9141 K line or uses the special SSM pins on the OBD2 connector. The consensus appears to be that it does, and it doesn't use the L line at all?? Does the L line matter, and is it necessary for SSM at all??? I've read everything on this forum a few times, and it's still a little unclear in my head. I'm an electronics technician, so the hardware makes sense, I just don't know enough about the SSM interface standard yet.
