evo 7 ecu

Hi all, I am the owner of a mitsubishi lancer with 4g63 engine anf also have evo7 ecu fitted to it too.
I bauht the openport cable too.
which is the best thing to do first, to read from ecu?
and than save as it and edit it?

Correct. Save a copy of your current/original ROM before you do anything else. If it all goes pear-shaped, you can just put it back to how it is now.
And make a backup. These ROMs have security codes specific to your car, so if you lose it, you'll be stuck with a car that doesn't work.
Start tuning from a copy of your ROM.

I used the evoscan software 2.8
I read from the ecu and it save sort of file +++++.hex on the left side.
How can i save a copy of it?

they are definition files necessary to make the rom viewable , get a copy of ecuflash below

save to my computer/C:/program files/open ecu/ecuflash/rommetdata/misubishi/evo if it asks to replace existing files click yes

thats fine i have managed to do it.
Now I tried to connect with the ecu flash and some errors are poping out and not letting me connect to my ecu.
Are there any options that i shall do to connect well?

Double check the flash-enable connector is plugged in correctly too; that's important.

with regards to cable i think that is ok because with the evoscan i succeed to connect and clear the fault codes.

Connecting to read codes and connecting to reflash are not the same. Reflashing requires the extra connector, because it forces the micro to run 'boot' code. You can't reflash without that.
