Help, Got cable?

I have a Aus spec MY01 WRX. I have the Tactrix Open Port cable.

I have ECUExplorer and ECUFlash and Enginuity on my lap top.

I took itout to the car and connected the green plugs under the dash as i only want to see if i can read etc atm.

Had the car turned off, loaded up ECUExplorer and i get the message "Error, can't open log etc, 5x00", or somethinh like that.

I go to tools and select my ECU ie: 2001-2005 iutside U.S.

I go to read ROM and a box appears,save etc. Typein the file name to save, then a box appears. Kernell blah, blahh etc and either Aborted or can't connect.

What is the process? i have tried it with the ignition on as well.

Does the Openport need drivers?, where can i get these?
