Best PC for ECUFlash / RomRaider?

Hey guys,

I'm a Mac guy, but I need some kind of PC to use with ECUFlash and Romraider. Would a basic net book work? I'd prefer something with Windows XP. Would an Acer net book have enough power to run RomRaider while logging and/or tuning?

or

They both come with Windows 7 (-_-)

Thanks for any guidance!

You'll go crazy with those screen resolutions. I'd recommend 1280x1024 minimum. Avoid <= 1024x* at all costs. 1920x* even better.
Dual core recommended, especially if you're used to a Mac, at least 2Gb RAM if you're running Win7.
Why not just run XP under parallels or boot camp on your mac? (presuming it's a laptop)

Thanks for the info.

I've considered running boot camp with XP. I had that on my old Mac, and could never get RomRaider to work (wouldn't ever connect to ECU). So I've been thinking about just getting a PC laptop to use exclusively for flashing and logging.

As far as PC's go, am I safe to get a 64bit? I found this one:

64-bit is no problem AFAIK.
That laptop should be fine I'd say (disclaimer: don't blame me if it's not!)
Good find. :)

Yeah I'm really having trouble finding anything with XP anymore. I think I'll just get something with Win 7 64 bit and make it work.

Thanks for the replies.
