How complete is J2534 support

Postby comrade904 » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:45 am

I found this place looking for remap tools for my volvo. I noticed at the tantrix website there are downloadable drivers for j2534 on a openport device. Up untill last week I had a used Drewtech Cardaq and the Volvo dealer diagnostic software to chase down any CEL causes. It broke last week and it looks like it will be about $100 to have fixed.

Is the open port compatible with J2534 Passthru software like dealer software, (Volvo Vida, or MB Star ect ect) since I am looking at spending close to 150 after shipping anyways?

I talked to the ppl at drewtech again and they said I should sent it monday if I decide to have them repair it. I am still looking for information on whether this openport can be used as a j2534 tool like the cardaq. Please let me know if there is a better place to ask this question or if there is some one in particular that can give me the most accurate information without trying to sell me something.

Thanks,
Adam

OP2.0 J2534 driver does work, at least for those protocols required for modern Subaru models (serial SSM2, CAN etc.).
Haven't tested other car brands and their communications.
