Question regarding EcuFlash

Postby jodriscoll » Mon Dec 06, 2010 9:16 am

Good Afternoon,
I am an owner of a OpenPort 2.0 device that I use with VersaTuner for my MazdaSpeed 6. My friend has a 2004 Honda Civic (DX) and their car is shooting a check engine light signal. Is their any possible way to use EcuFlash to get what code the ECU is popping up and diagnose it without going to a dealership?

Thanks so much in advance,
Joey

Probably not unless you use Honda tools compatible with J2534 interface (if such a thing exists). Even then you might have to buy that.
Dealer might be the best option. Perhaps a specialist mechanic who has a good all-round scanner (OBDII).
