Anyone ever use the B&B Electronics VIA?

Hi guys, I'm new here, and just joined today. This is an excellent site and has a lot of smart people onboard to discuss ECU reflashing! I just pre-ordered the 1.3 cable today for my Evo VIII. :)

Anyhow, I have a B&B Electronics VIA (Vehicle Interface Adapter) that I used for a very short period of time. I only used it to log data from the OBD II port, as it provided a nice serial protocol and did the conversion to OBD II commands for me.

Does anyone here know if it's possible to do anything useful with this adapter? Has anyone used it before? I take it that it's probably only useful for logging, and not much else. I'm new to reflashing, and don't know if sending a series of undocumented commands will allow me to magically suck the ROM data off of the ECU. I only have the commands listed in the SAE document that I purchased.

In any case, it doesn't matter too much, as I'll hopefully have the 1.3 cable soon!
