Hi there,

I have OP 2.0 Rev. E. It works with my 09 WRX. I do standalone data logging just fine, re-flashes OK too.

But yesterday I tried to connect it to my friend's 02 WRX and it did not work at all. I used the same computer, went from car to car... Works with my car, no go with his car. I uninstalled/reinstalled RomRaider, EcuFlash, used beta versions and release versions - no success... I tried his laptop too, with the same result. OpenEcu logger says: "Connecting" and does nothing, EcuFlash shows kernel error when I tried to read the ROM. I don't have the logs available now, can post them tonight.

as soon as you turn the key on the car you have to begin the flash... So set up ECU Flash to say that YES or NO buttons and as soon as you put the key to the on position hit yes and flash... The 02 ECU's are picky about being flashed.

Also please make sure the car is in test mode and you have connected the two wires for reading the ecu or used a tactrix jumper...

Oh, I don't want to flash. I need to log and read a CEL code.
I flashed that car with 1.3 cable, which I have sold in favor of the new one to support my new car. Isn't OP 2.0 backward compatible?

The 2.0 will work fine on an 02... I have flashed 02 with my 2.0... Make sure you have the reflash connector/ jumper or equivalent properly placed...

I don't think I need to have that reflash connector in place if I just want to log... I remember I did it before with that car using 1.3 cable. Anyway, I'll try again tonight.
