Read ECU with Vag-Com cable

Postby knfevg » Tue Nov 03, 2009 11:26 am

I've got my self one of this $20 vag-com cables from ebay to play with my '03 Impreza STi (EDM).
No problem logging with ECUExplorer, RR and LearningView.
However, when I try to READ the ECU with ECUFLASH - NOTHING!
I've checked that the car get't into test mode (fan cycles), using ECUFlash 1.42 (didn't install the drivers it came with. Cant use older versions because the dont have 03-05 non-USDM cars in the list). I DONT have the plugl but as far as I understand - I need it only to FLASH and not to read.
My car has a ProDrive kit, but I guess I'd get some special error about not beeing able to read it....
Any ideas?

Why do you think it will work? If the problem is my ProDrive locked ECU - Tactrix wont work. If the problem is an installation - I can fix it and make VagCom working.

vagcom work for logging, to flash, it need modifications and writing PID to the FT chip, I didnt manage to complete it fully. Now I am fighting with openport 2.0 - no data log at all - so BE CAREFUL
