Open port 1.2 cable question

Postby Scoobtastic » Mon Feb 16, 2009 4:17 am

I've read the FAQ at the top of the forum, it says the 1.2 cable is compatible for 1999-2003 Subaru's. I have a 53 plate Impreza and all I want to do at the moment is disable the O2 sensor cause I've decatted the car.
I might have the opportunity to get my hands on a Openport 1.2 cable (more than half the price of buying a 2.0 from Tactrix) but there's no point if it won't let me do what I want!

Was that meant to be 03 plate? If so, then you're in with a chance.
If it's a standard Impreza (not WRX) then this will probably NOT work for you. ECUFlash reflashing works with Subaru Denso ECUs only, from 2001 onwards. Non-turbo models that I have seen have JECs or Hitachi ECUs. Have a look; if your ECU is not Denso, you're out of luck.
The OpenPort1.2 cable will work ok with diagnostics however, but that won't help much with what you want.
Good luck.

In that case it should definitely work; please let us know.
