Cable question

I've got an OBDII cable which I was using with my '98 A4 1.8t & vag-com. The A4 is gone and an 05 Legacy GT has taken its place.

I'm unable to connect to the ECU using this cable (using tari ecu explorer). Being a noob, anyone have advice for me?

And as SOON as I post something the connection goes live. It was cockpit error.
