Most likely causes:
1. Wrong vehicle type (different connection method)
2. Green test mode connectors not connected (NOTE: there may be 2). Fans should cycle in test mode.
3. Not clicking 'Ok' quickly enough after turning the key on
Check those first then let us know how you went.

i have connected the green connectors and the reflash plug for the 2005 wrx, the fans on the car come on then go off continuously.
i have tried turning the ignition on beofre and after clicking ok but it still does not connect.

The tactrix lead works perfectly fine with romraider so i dont think there is anything wrong with the lead, im going to try unistalling the software and reinstalling it to see if that sorts it out the only other thing is im using windows vista dont know if that has been causing any problems with the software.

Ive tried using the other vehicle types on the sofware but they dont work the one i should be using is 2001+ non usdm/ wrx/sti

Oh yeah, I forgot:
4. ECU locked by someone else (EcuTek, Cobb, etc)

The only way to get around #4 is to get ET to unlock it for you (from what I've heard this never actually works, and you still can't read the ECU), or get someone else to restore your ECU- the ET license will be lost. There are a couple of places this can be done (search this forum).
