Trouble reading anything on '06 OBXT

Postby Apex-XT » Wed May 14, 2008 9:21 pm

Background- I have an 06 OBXT 5EAT and am able to successfully use my AP v2 to flash and unflash. I've purchased a Tactrix 1.3u cable and have loaded ECUFlash onto my laptop. I'm unable to get ECUFlash to read anything off the ECU.

I've only tried this with the AP uninstalled. The laptop sees the Tactrix cable and indicates so at the bottom left with "OpenPort 1.3 Subaru TX47fu9X" when ECUFlash is running. When ECUFlash loads, it only goes through to the "shbootmode" listing (see below). It has never gotten past this line and I've never been able to get it to read anything on the ECU. When I press Read ECU, the window pops up in the middle with nothing in it and Cancel the only highlighted choice.

[23:08:52.640] Version 1.34.1435
[23:08:52.640] 11 memory models read.
[23:08:52.640] scanning for metadata models in C:/Program Files/OpenECU/EcuFlash/rommetadata/subaru
[23:08:55.781] 188 ROM metadata models scanned.
[23:08:55.781] checksum module "subarudbw" loaded.
[23:08:55.796] flashing tool "wrx02" loaded.
[23:08:55.796] flashing tool "wrx04" loaded.
[23:08:55.796] flashing tool "sti04" loaded.
[23:08:55.796] flashing tool "sti05" loaded.
[23:08:55.796] flashing tool "mitsukernel" loaded.
[23:08:55.796] flashing tool "mitsukernelocp" loaded.
[23:08:55.796] flashing tool "shbootmode" loaded.

I've followed the various troubleshooting threads I could find - removing the program and drivers, reinstalling, ensuring the latest data files are installed, etc.

I've tried to work it out before posting for help, so now I'm at patience's end. Is it possible the Tactrix cable is bad?

Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do or where to go next?

Thanks for in advance for your help.
