Another can't read ecu

Postby Dave Harries » Sat May 12, 2007 2:41 am

I have been sold a universal mitsubishi and subaru cable , when I plugged it in it configured its self to be a mitsubishi and I can't get it to read my subaru , is there a specific driver for the subaru using this cable?
Also when trying to read the ecu I get a list of vehicles that are listed as DBW which I guess is drive by wire , my subaru is not drive by wire will this make a difference?
Sorry for the long winded questions Dave

what year is your subaru made? rex or sti.... for my MY05 rex i use the 02-03 wrx to read the ecu. the steps is abit tricky...

set ur ecuflash to the final step when u click 'OK' it will read the rom, before that make sure the car key is off. Turn the key to "On" then quickly hit the OK button. that it should read. Also make sure u connect the green plug.

The car was registered in november 2004 and is an STi . I tried all the combinatios of connectors using the green ones and the extra 4 wire plug in one , nothing worked .

I hv yet to try out the STI, may be will try it out this week end on a friend Ver9 JDM STI. as all the STI in my country is JDM, only the rex is UK spec.

Also hope to read some of the S203 & 204. if the owner let me to so....hehe :D

For reading the ECU rom, I think is the step/timing between the key turn to on & ur PC part. Just relax.... give it a rest can go try it later this week end.
