Reading ok, writing not

Postby Tex Willer » Wed Jan 31, 2007 1:16 am

Hi! My first post...
Have an 04 sti
I have managed to read my std ecu file and saved it.
But when I load the modified file, and try to write I get this message:

[19:58:47.718] 163840 byte image read.
[19:58:50.578] Flashing tools do not recognize flash method ''

Any thoughts of what may be causing this?

The flashmethod is probably missing from the Ecuflash definition for your rom. Go to the Ecuflash directory. Then to rommetadata/Subaru and find the .xml file the same as the calibration id of your rom (example A2ZJ710J). Then open it with a text editor. The flashmethod should read:
<flashmethod>sti04</flashmethod>
If not, change it and save. You are flashing the same rom that you downloaded from your ecu, correct?

He is in Norway and I doubt his 2004 STi is 32-bit. He should try wrx04 or wrx02, I think.

What are you trying to do (read or flash)? Vehicle/year? Cable?

having pretty much the same issues - Tex is having...
Its an STi 04 ,which was the first, then a WRX 03..
I have the Tatrix cables for Scooby's,with the white 4 pin jumper, and a blue3 way,but only has a dual jumper,
I'd like to know the following, - all the files in the data base have an XML extension, both my reads are 160 kb in size?
I think the install on my PC , is not quite the "business"
Is it possible to have your contact details - merchG (promise, won't bug you
unnecessarily
